How to cancel an event

Close the form, add a note for people who open the link, turn reminders off, then email everyone yourself from Results.

Updated 2026-10-19

When an event is off (snow, a sick teacher, a venue problem), four steps make sure nobody shows up. Jupiter Signup doesn't message everyone for you, so the last step is your own email, with the addresses filled in for you.

Steps

  1. Tell the builder in chat, for example "the concert is cancelled because of the snow, close the form". Or switch off Open for sign-ups at the top of Setup.
  2. Add a note for anyone who opens the link, like "Cancelled because of the snow. Questions: reply to your confirmation email." The builder writes one when you tell it the event is off, or type it under the switch in Setup. It shows on the closed page and on each person's change link.
  3. Turn reminders off: tap Turn reminders off in the builder's reply or at the top of Setup. Closing the form doesn't stop reminders, so without this everyone still gets "see you tomorrow".
  4. In Results, tap Email everyone. Your own email opens with everyone who holds a place in BCC, so nobody sees the others' addresses. Or tap Copy all emails and paste them into BCC yourself.

If people paid, see How to cancel an event you took payment for for refunds.
