How to limit sign-ups and cap attendance

Updated 2026-07-02

To limit sign-ups, give the form (or each option) a capacity. Jupiter Signup shows how many spots are left, stops accepting sign-ups when the limit is reached, and can open a waitlist. The cap is enforced on the server, so it can't be oversold.

Paid on Stripe, 2% fee, no monthly cost.

Steps

  1. 1 Set the limit Tell the builder the maximum, for example "limit it to 20 people" or "cap each session at 12". Different options can have different caps.
  2. 2 Show spots remaining The form displays how many places are left so people see scarcity, then marks the option sold out at the limit.
  3. 3 Add a waitlist if you want Optionally capture a waitlist once it fills, so demand past the cap isn't lost.

Frequently asked questions

Can different options have different limits?

Yes. Each session, date, or ticket type can carry its own capacity, so one can sell out while others stay open.

What happens at the limit?

The option is marked sold out and stops accepting sign-ups. If you enabled a waitlist, further interest is captured there.

What does Jupiter Signup cost?

There is no monthly plan. It takes a flat 2% of what you collect, on top of Stripe's normal processing fee. A sign-up that does not charge is free.
