How to refund someone

For organizers: refund card payments in your Stripe dashboard and Results updates by itself. PayPal refunds happen in PayPal.

Paid on someone else's form and want your money back? See I paid on a sign-up form and want a refund.

The money went straight to your own account, so refunds happen there, not in Jupiter Signup. Removing or editing someone in Results never sends money back.

Card payments (Stripe)

  1. In your Stripe dashboard, open Payments and find their payment (search their name or email).
  2. Choose Refund and enter the full amount or part of it.
  • Results updates by itself. A full refund marks the sign-up Refunded and frees their spot. A partial refund keeps it Paid and counts only what you kept.
  • Fees aren't returned on a refund: the 1% fee you paid us isn't returned, and Stripe usually keeps its own processing fee. The person you refund gets back the full amount you refund.

PayPal and Venmo through your PayPal

Refund in your PayPal account. A PayPal refund doesn't update Results yet, so change their row in Results yourself afterwards.

Venmo, Zelle or cash you collected yourself

Send the money back the way they paid you, then mark their row in Results.

A disputed card payment

If someone asks their bank to reverse a card payment (a dispute, or chargeback), Results marks their row Disputed and they can't change their sign-up themselves any more. Their spot stays theirs until you remove them. Answer the dispute in your Stripe dashboard, where Stripe shows the deadline and what to send.
