How to offer a discount code or scholarship

Discounts are part of the price catalog, so the server applies them, not just the page.

Steps

1. In the builder chat, say the code and the discount: "$10 off with the code RESIDENT", or "25% off with SAVE25". Either a percentage or a set dollar amount works.
2. A "Have a discount code?" box appears on the form automatically, above the total. If you'd rather place or style it yourself, just ask.
3. When someone types the code, the total updates on the page and the server re-checks the code before charging, so a made-up code never gets a discount.

For a scholarship or comp, ask for a self-serve checkbox instead ("an 'I'm on a scholarship' box that makes it free"); people tick it rather than typing a code, and 100% off makes the sign-up free.

Early-bird pricing

Ask for a lower price that ends on a date ("$10 off through July 1" or "early-bird $30 until the 15th"). The server enforces it: cheaper until your cutoff, full price after — no code needed, and it can't be gamed by leaving the page open.

How discounts combine

• A bulk discount and a coupon code combine — the bulk break applies first, then the code.
• When two codes could apply, you get whichever takes the most off, never both.
• An early-bird price does not combine with other discounts. While it's active, the buyer simply gets whichever is the bigger saving — the early-bird price, or a code/bulk discount — but never both added together.
